Volleyball

Congratulations Cougars!!! You did it! You made school history and brought home the very first school championship in any sport. Although Becca and I missed the last 2 games because we were in Denver, we were there in spirit. Thanks to some wonderful moms, we had the play-by-play over the phone. I might have had a stroke if I was there on the sidelines so it may have been a blessing in disguise that I was in Denver.

These girls are amazing. They lost their first four games and went on to take home the title. I have been fortunate enough to watch them grow on and off the court these past few weeks. I honestly believe that God rewarded their sportsmanship and their encouragement to others by allowing them to defeat the undefeated teams to win the championship. These girls always said encouraging things to every player, regardless of the play. They were uplifting to the other schools we played. Their kindness and respect not only for their team, but the coaches, the opponents and the fans, showed their true character. I am so proud of them! The girls could not have done it alone, they had an amazing coach (Mr. Navarro) and some very supportive parents.

Next week is the banquet and I am sure I will have more news to share.
